Hop.Earth Guide โ€บ About

How This Guide Is Made

Everything here was checked inside the game โ€” an account, a login, a car, a race we built ourselves. Anything second-hand names its source. This page shows you which is which.

Every Claim, and Where It Came From

Most write-ups about this game were made without opening it for more than a few minutes โ€” which is how you get articles that never mention there's a helicopter in it. Here's our sourcing.

What we publishHow we know it
The full keybind listThe game client's own help-screen definitions โ€” the same list it draws when you hold H
Terrain resolution, ~95% correct roads, hold J to hop broken geometry, free roam with racing still to comeOfficial text in the game's TOPUP panel, quoted not paraphrased
Race creation steps and route panel fieldsWe built a race in Monaco and recorded what the panel said

Bugs and rough edgesReproduced on our own machine, including a near-black Monaco drop

We Actually Play It

Hop.Earth wants an account before it lets you in, so step one was making one and logging in. The entry point is the OFFICIAL room labelled LOBBY โ€” "Start Here!", which runs in single player mode, and its default drop point is Monte Carlo. Small detail, big consequence: it explains why so many community races in the Latest Races table sit on the same handful of Monaco coordinates.

Playing is also the only way to catch what nobody writes down โ€” the tap-versus-hold split on X, or the way Space stops being a handbrake once you're in the helicopter.

The Controls: Check Us, Don't Trust Us

Hold H and compare

Our controls page comes from the game's own help-screen definitions, not from guesswork or from other guides โ€” and the game draws that same list when you hold H. If the two ever disagree, the H screen is right and we're out of date. Tell us and we'll fix it.

We say that loudly because the developers are candid that early adopters should expect "work-in-progress mechanics, and lots of bugs that you can report if you want!" Keybinds in that kind of project move, and a guide that asks you to take its word forever is one that will quietly go wrong.

Official Statements Come From the Game, Not From Rumour

The developer facts we quote โ€” 30 m terrain worldwide with up to 2 m in France, Spain and their islands; roads generated live on your own device; roughly 95% of roads and intersections rendering correctly against a 99.99% target; hold J to jump broken geometry; and the flat statement that the game is currently free roam, with racing and GPS navigation coming soon โ€” all come from the official text in the game's TOPUP panel, quoted as written.

That last one matters most. Plenty of coverage calls Hop.Earth a racing game. Officially it isn't one yet, and our race guide is written on that basis.

What We Built and Broke Ourselves

To document race creation, we made one. Two clicks on the map produced a 1.82 km route starting on Quai Antoine 1er in Monaco, with the panel reporting Weather: Very good, Surface: Asphalt and Elevation 42 m. That's how we know there's a weather system and a road-surface model in there at all โ€” the panel told us, after we built a track and looked at it.

We hit the failures too. Our first Monaco drop was nearly pitch black: it was genuinely night in that time zone and the terrain hadn't finished building. Same thing players complain about, reproduced first-hand and written up on the loading and stuttering page. In the community lobby list we watched a room sit there marked down, in a section the game labels (UNSTABLE) itself. When we describe a bug, we've seen it.
